Are you interested in relaxing at a cozy cabin on a secluded lake? Our wilderness cabins are situated at Dalayee Lake, nestled in the rolling hills of southern Yukon, not far from Whitehorse.
This trekking along the Donjek route is neither marked nor in any way maintained and has no infrastructure at all. The route is challenging, including difficult terrain and several river crossings. Inclement weather can move in fast. Participants must be in very good physical condition and bring a good portion of endurance. You will have to carry not only your personal belongings but also a part of the group equipment and food. Expect to start off with a backpack weighing about 25kg (55lbs). However you will be rewarded with the unparalleled beauty of the pristine wilderness of Kluane National Parks interior.
Kluane National Park Reserve is located in the southwest corner of the Yukon Territory, bordering on British Columbia and Alaska. Kluane National Park (pronounced “Kloo – wah – nee) covers an area of 21,980 square kilometers. It is a land of an impressive diversity. The extensive mountain massive of the Wrangell – St. Elias chain is part of the Kluane National Park. Mount Logan, 5959m, Canada’s highest mountain, is within the park boundaries. The park has one of the most extensive non-polar ice fields in the world. The park protects valleys and alpine tundra that yield a unique array of plant and wildlife species. Kluane has the largest diversity of pacific and arctic flora north of the 60th parallel. The gateway to activities in the park is Haines Junction, which is about 160 km west of the Yukon’s capital, Whitehorse. Kluane and its American counterpart, Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, were jointly declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979.
