This hiking trip starts with a scenic ride on a floatplane from Whitehorse, Yukon’s capital city, to a glacier fed lake within the Yukon Coast Mountain Range where we will establish a base camp. Away from any signs of civilization we will hike above the tree line over plateaus and gentle passes. Great scenery and wildlife sightings are icons of this trip. The land seems without borders and the photo opportunities are endless.
All our trips follow the current covid-19 guidelines set by the Yukon Government. This trip is ideal for the avid hiker that enjoys a getaway on a secluded alpine lake. The hiking is based out of a base camp. You will be the planning team of the daily activity and can help decide where to adventure. You will be part of a small group. If you like hiking following faint trails by wildlife rather than following well established hiking trails, if you like learning about backcountry travel, this trip is for you.
All routes hiked during this trip are not marked or in any way maintained. There are no established campsites with infra structure which makes it even more a memorable trip! Rough weather can move in fast and may make changes to the routing necessary. Participants will have to carry not only personal belongings but also a part of the group equipment and food. To fully enjoy this trip good physical condition is necessary, daily hiking time is about 5 hours.
