Your journey itinerary

Day 1: You will arrive in Whitehorse on your own schedule. In the afternoon you will meet your guide Andrea for the tour preparation and trip briefing. Overnight in a centrally located Hotel.

Day 2: We will pick you up at your hotel and drive to the floatplane base just outside the city. After loading the plane, we take off and fly over gentle hills and deep blue lakes towards the Coast Mountains. The flight takes about one half hour before we will land above Rose Lake. Once the plane has left and the sound of the engine fades in the distance, we will feel immersed in wilderness and its solitude. Now our adventure starts. We set up our camp and explore the area.

Day 3 to 5: We hike across plateaus and over gentle passes, climb peaks and swim in a crystal clear lake. Every moment offering great new views. This land is home to Caribou and Sheep and we will very likely see them up close. Your knowledgeable guide will point out wildlife, plants and geological features in the vast land. Preparing tasty and healthy camping meals are part of the experience!

Day 6: We will descent to Rose Lake where we will be picked up by float plane and enjoy seeing the landscape we just explored on foot.

Day 7: After a good night sleep you will continue your journey on your own.

Things to know

All our trips follow the current covid-19 guidelines set by the Yukon Government. This trip is ideal for the avid hiker that enjoys a getaway on a secluded alpine lake. The hiking is based out of a base camp. You will be the planning team of the daily activity and can help decide where to adventure.  You will be part of a small group. If you like hiking following faint trails by wildlife rather than following well established hiking trails, if you like learning about backcountry travel,  this trip is for you.

All routes hiked during this trip are not marked or in any way maintained. There are no established campsites with infra structure which makes it even more a memorable trip! Rough weather can move in fast and may make changes to the routing necessary. Participants will have to carry not only personal belongings but also a part of the group equipment and food. To fully enjoy this trip good physical condition is necessary, daily hiking time is about 5 hours.

Add-ons
